Custom Builds

From first dial concept to finished custom watch.

Each custom build starts with the dial. From there, artwork, colour, texture, and finishing are refined into a complete watch built on the M‑K platform.

A custom watch developed in stages.

The process moves from visual direction into production method, then into finishing and final assembly. Each stage refines the watch towards its final character.

Dial concept and visual direction.

The brief begins with mood, colour, artwork, and the presence the dial should carry. This is where the watch takes on its identity.

UV printing process applying colour to a dial

UV printing and colour application.

Once the layout is defined, UV printing allows controlled colour layers, gradients, dial graphics, and sharper artwork to be applied with precision.

Laser refining texture into a custom dial

MOPA laser texture and detail.

Laser work brings in contrast, depth, and fine surface control, adding the finishing detail that gives a custom dial its material character.

Finished dial components arranged during the custom build process

Final watch build and resolution.

With the dial complete, the case, strap direction, and finishing choices are balanced around it so the final piece feels resolved as a complete watch.

Built around custom dial design and process control.

The custom programme is built around development, not selection. A brief can begin with artwork, colour, texture, or simply a mood.

Layered colour and detailed dial graphics.

UV printing gives precise control over colour placement, gradients, logo work, and fine surface graphics.

  • Custom logos, printed artwork, and sharper dial graphics
  • Controlled colour fades and layered visual effects
  • Strong option for cleaner or more expressive dial briefs

Texture, contrast, and fine surface control.

MOPA laser processing adds texture, tonal variation, and precise engraved detail.

  • Fine engraved textures and more technical surface effects
  • Greater contrast and more depth across the finish
  • Ideal for metallic, industrial, or darker dial executions

Almost any dial direction, built to brief.

The goal is not to force the dial into a preset look. It can be built around your own artwork, finish, and colour language.

  • Private commissions, one-off dials, and concept-led builds
  • Brand references, personal ideas, or event-specific pieces
  • Best suited to clients who want something properly individual

How the watch comes together once the direction is set.

The process starts with the dial, then carries that language through the rest of the watch.

01

Define the dial concept.

Start with the brief: colour palette, artwork, logo placement, texture ideas, and the visual presence the dial needs to carry.

02

Select the production method.

UV printing, MOPA laser work, or a combination of both is selected depending on whether the dial needs colour layering, fine detail, texture, or technical surface work.

03

Complete the watch around it.

Once the dial direction is locked, strap choice, contrast, and case detailing are refined so the finished watch supports the dial rather than competing with it.

The core specification stays consistent.

The dial may be highly custom, but the watch still sits on the core M‑K platform so the finished piece remains mechanically consistent and fully resolved.

  • 40mm case size
  • 316L stainless steel construction
  • TMI NH35 automatic movement
  • Sapphire crystal
  • Rubber, leather, or stainless steel bracelet direction

What the Custom Builds page is for.

  • Private commissions For clients who want a one-off watch developed from a more personal dial concept.
  • Dial-first development For projects where surface treatment, artwork, and finish control lead the brief.
  • Technical experimentation For concepts that rely on UV printing, laser textures, or a less standard visual finish.
